1. About Our Auctions
How do your auctions work?
We run weekly online liquidation auctions from Sunday to Sunday. Bidders can browse, bid, and win items at great prices. The highest bidder at auction close wins the item. We use a Soft Close bidding system which extends the timer automatically if a bid is placed in the last 2 minutes.
How do I register to bid?
You must create an account at https://lakeeffectliquidation.hibid.com/ and register for that weeks auction, and agree to our terms and conditions. We require an account with a verified form of payment and the address to be used for shipping.
Can I preview items before bidding?
At this time we do not have the ability to manage in person previews. We hope to be able to provide you this opportunity soon.
Are all items new?
Items may be new, open-box unused, refurbished, customer returns, or for parts only. We list item conditions in the descriptions and encourage bidders to review the photos and description.
2. Payments & Fees
What payment methods do you accept?
Upon winning an auction, you will be sent a settlement with the total. If picking up your items in person, we accept debit/credit, and cash. If requested shipping, the shipping cost will be added to your settlement and your card on file will be automatically charged. Items are shipped every week on Friday.
Are there any buyer’s fees?
Yes, a buyer’s premium of 13% will be applied to your final invoice. New York Sales tax at 8.75% is then collected and added to the final invoice, unless you have a valid reseller’s certificate.
Note that there is also a 3% credit card processing fee that will be added to your final invoice.
Can I cancel my bid?
NO, all bids are final, and non-paying bidders may be banned from future auctions.

3. Pickup & Shipping
How do I pick up my items?
If you are local and did not request shipping, winning bidders must pick up their items at our warehouse during the specified business hours described within the auction settlement email. You will need to bring your invoice number, ID, and payment method.
Do you offer shipping?
Yes, we offer shipping nationwide. Shipping costs will be calculated after the auction and are variable based on the best current rate offered at the time and day. Your card on file will be automatically charged and items shipped that week.
Can someone else pick up my item for me?
Yes if you provide them with a copy of your invoice and please let us know in advance.
What happens if I don’t pick up my items?
If you do not pickup and pay for your items within the designated pickup window, your items will be considered abandoned. Unclaimed items will be forfeited and resold, and you may be banned from future auctions. You will be charged a 20% restocking fee as well. Please reach out to us if you need a different pickup window accommodation.
4. Refunds & Returns
Can I return an item?
All sales are final and as-is. We do our best to test items and describe them accurately, but buyers assume all risks. If an item is significantly different from its description, ie. damaged, incomplete, or inaccurate, contact us within 72 hours of pickup or delivery for resolution.
5. Business & Tax Questions
Can I get a tax-exempt purchase?
Yes! If you are a reseller with a valid resale certificate, you can email your tax-exempt documents to us before bidding.
Do you provide invoices for business purchases?
Yes! All winning bidders receive a detailed invoice via email with their purchase breakdown for tax or bookkeeping purposes.
